BattleBit Remastered is as cutthroat as they come. Death comes quickly, often, and usually from out of sight. This only gets more hectic as the player count rises well into the hundreds. It’s not uncommon to find yourself walking back into the fray than actually fighting, and this is far from fun.
But what if we told you there was a better way – a way that you could rejoin the fight without having to hoof it from your base? It exists, and it’s called a Respawn Beacon. But what are these mysterious devices, how can you use them, and where do you put them?

What Are Respawn Beacons?
Respawn Beacons are powerful deployables that only SQUAD LEADERS can place. These allow anyone in that squad to respawn to the Beacon. Naturally, if they are well placed and defended, a clever Leader can put far more pressure on the enemy with his Squad. If multiple Squad Leaders are doing this, then victory becomes far more attainable.
FOBs cost 200 Squad Points to deploy and must be placed on solid ground. Those restrictions aside, you can plonk them down anywhere. They are rather large, however, so make sure you account for that. Once they are down they will constantly send out static to inform your opponents that one is nearby. Because of this, you want to make sure you hide them well.
If a FOB is found, it can be destroyed very quickly with basic gunfire. If your enemies are feeling extra mean, they could just camp the FOB and blast your Squad every time they try to spawn in. Nasty stuff indeed.
Best Places To Plant A Respawn Beacon
Because FOBs are so vulnerable to being deathtraps, you are going to want to place them carefully. We would highly recommend planting them in buildings near objectives. You want to make sure they are far enough away that enemies can’t hear them, but close enough that your Squad can apply pressure with minimal downtime.
Of course, buildings are not the most secure of places since BattleBit Remastered is highly destructible. Our recommendation is to build Sandbags and block any obvious sightlines to your FOB. This will prevent enemies from sniping your Squad, keep your FOB intact, and generally make your forward operations more likely to succeed.
Downsides Of Respawn Beacons
A deployable this powerful naturally has some downsides. First and foremost you can only have one out at a time per squad. This prevents you from launching several strikes at once since your Squad can only be in one place at a time.
Not only that, if your FOB is found and subsequently destroyed, there is a cooldown timer that prevents you from establishing a new one straight away. As a result, you want to make sure you are keeping them safe.
These Beacons are functionally worthless if your Squad doesn’t know what they are and refuses to work together. This is the bane of any public multiplayer game, but trying to communicate with them to persuade teamwork can help alleviate this somewhat. Failing that, grab some friends and go in as a party.
Finally, since these things are only deployable by a Squad Leader, you can’t always use them. This is especially bad if your Squad Leader doesn’t know this feature exists. There isn’t much you can do about that other than try to talk to them. Again, the best solution is to run with a group of mates.
