Destiny 2’s Lightfall expansion has been out for a while now, and that means it’s time to start grinding for better stats, cool new weapons, and interesting rewards. To help you along the way, Bungie has once again implemented a Challenge system that will boost your grind and even bump up your Season Pass – free and premium.
As will likely be the case going forward, Week 2 Challenges will be slightly harder to complete than Week 1’s. In addition, you are going to need to be at a higher level if you want to get through them all with ease. On the plus side, there is also a new Queensguard quest to plod through, expanding Lightfall’s story.

Every Week 1 Challenge
There are a total of 10 Challenges for players to complete each week, and the second week is no different.
Against The Shadows
Challenge
Complete Week 2 of the ‘We Stand Unbroken’ quest.
Rewards
- War Table Upgrade
- Seasonal EXP
This is the next chapter in Lightfall’s story, so going out of your way to get it done will give you a greater understanding of how the plot is developing. Not only that, but you will also gain some new insights on recurring characters and get your hands on some nice Queensguard loot. The quest is very short and you can run through it in about 30 minutes.
Favoured Liberator
Challenge
Generate Favours in Seasonal Activities.
Rewards
- War Table Upgrade
- Seasonal EXP
This one can be knocked out in a couple of Defiant Battlegrounds. Favours are generated by doing all kinds of things, and since progress is tracked team-wide, you can rattle through this in no time at all. If you want to get through it even quicker, be sure to check how you gain Favours at your War Table and focus on that style of gameplay.
Rohan’s Legacy
Challenge
Complete the quest ‘Unfinished Business’. In addition, defeat enemies throughout Neomuna with precision final blows.
Rewards
- Seasonal EXP
The ‘Unfinished Business’ quest is a quest that unlocks upon completing the Lightfall campaign, and completing it ASAP is highly recommended. This is because the Machine Gun you unlock for completing this mission is very good and well worth plodding through. This being a Challenge only further reinforces why you should crack on and complete this.
The Full Set
Challenge
In Neomuna, collect and place four Action Figures.
Rewards
- Seasonal EXP
This one can take a little while since these collectable Action Figures are well hidden and often require the completion of a puzzle. We have guides on how to do Week 1’s action figures, here, and Week 2’s, here.
Cosmodrome Activities
Challenge
In the Cosmodrome, earn progress by completing Bounties, Patrols, Public Events, and Lost Sectors.
Rewards
- Bright Dust
- Seasonal EXP
Similar to last week, this one is fairly straightforward, and a little bit tedious. Be sure to have as many Bounties underway from Han as possible, as well as having a running Patrol at all times. Public Events in conjunction with these three things should result in a smooth completion, but it can take a while.
Lost In Legend
Challenge
Complete a Lost Sector on Legend or higher.
Rewards
- Bright Dust
- Seasonal EXP
Another difficult one. You need to have unlocked Legendary Lost Sectors to complete this, and that requires you to have completed most – if not all – Lost Sectors in Destiny 2. Legendary Lost Sectors are also very difficult to complete solo, so consider bringing some friends or your Clan along for the ride.
Flourish Of Power
Challenge
Defeat Guardians in the Mayhem Playlist with Super abilities.
Rewards
- Bright Dust
- Seasonal EXP
Mayhem, like Rift, is only available on certain weeks, so if you don’t complete this during Week 2, you will have to wait quite some time to get an opportunity to complete it again. Unlike Rift, however, the challenge itself is very simple. Simply kill Guardians with your Super.
Bank, Kill, Repeat
Challenge
Earn points by banking Motes, defeating Blockers, and defeating Guardians in Gambit,
Rewards
- Bright Dust
- Seasonal EXP
Another PVP-focused challenge, only this time, we are looking at Gambits. Everything you do here will progress this, and since Gambits are always available, you can pluck away at this over time. It’s not difficult, just time-consuming – especially if you don’t like Gambit.
Hive Slayer
Challenge
Defeat Hive enemies in Vanguard Playlists or Strikes. Earn bonus points for defeating tougher enemies.
Rewards
- Bright Dust
- Seasonal EXP
This is just a rebrand of last week’s Cabal-orientated Challenge. This will just take time. The Hive doesn’t appear in every Strike, but they appear often enough to not be a big deal. You can get this done without much hassle at all.
Close-Range Calibration
Challenge
Calibrate close-range weapons – Sidearms, Submachine Guns, Shotguns, Swords, and Glaives – in the Cosmodrome.
Rewards
- Bright Dust
- Seasonal EXP
The final challenge can be completed in tandem with ‘Cosmodrome Activities’. Grab your favourite Shotgun (or another valid weapon) and just get killing. You will even gain bonus progress by killing enemies quickly, which shouldn’t be a problem in the Cosmodrome since enemies are in high numbers and are not overly difficult to kill.
With all of the challenges complete, you will have to wait until Week 3 and beyond to make more progress. Be sure to check out our other Destiny 2 Guides, Lists, and Walkthroughs for more content in the meantime.
