Once you gave successfully made your way through Herbology Class with the wonderful upbeat Professor Garlick, you are free to explore more of Hogwarts Legacy’s impressively large world. Your friend Natsai will contact you via Owl, and ask you to meet her in Lower Hogsfield. This begins two short quests in the Main Questline.
These quests, as the title of this article, suggests, are ‘The Girl From Uagadou’ and ‘The Trials Of Merlin’. Both quests feed into each other rather forcibly, so we decided to clump them together into one Walkthrough.

The Girl From Uagadou
Once you have received your Owl Mail, the quest will unlock. Natsai asks you to meet her in Lower Hogsfield, and this will be followed by a guide to Hamlets and the general Open World aspect of Hogwarts Legacy. Go to your Quest tab, track the quest, and you are good to go.
Getting To Lower Hogsfield
Lower Hogsfield is a pretty straightforward journey. You will need to leave Hogwarts, similar to how you left to go to Hogsmeade. However, instead of heading north, you want to go south. If you are tracking your quest, follow your waypoints, and you will get to Lower Hogsfield in no time.
The journey here is pretty tame. You may find some Giant Spiders hiding in the trees along the trail, but these can quickly be dispatched with a few spell combos. They are especially weak to Incendio, so be sure to Accio them to you and fire away.
Talking To Natsai
You will find Natsai on the outskirts of Lower Hogsfield. She will ask you about your excursions with Professor Fig, your battle in Hogsmeade, and your run-in with Sirona and Rookwood. Natsai is inspired by your proactive approach to problem-solving and is concocting a plan to hinder Rookwood’s criminal organisation.
Natsai will wander off after telling you about gathering evidence for the police. This will complete the quest, reward you with a nice chunk of EXP, and then immediately trigger the ‘Trials Of Merlin’.
The Trials Of Merlin
With Natsai on her adventures, you will hear shouting to the southeast. Your quest tracker will update with the Trials Of Merlin quest. Walk over to the source of the racket, and be prepared for a fight.
Defeating Ashwinder Scouts & Duelists
Once you approach, you will see a friendly-looking woman called Nora Threadwell being accosted by some unsavoury-looking wizards. These are, as is to be expected, Dark Wizards. Turns out they are hunting YOU, and you’ve just wandered into view. Whoops.
This will trigger a battle between you and two Ashwinder Scouts. Nora will assist you, however, Ashwinder Scouts are not exactly difficult to deal with. Neither will have Protego charms active, you can dispatch them with a few Incendios and spell combos.
This isn’t the end, however. With the Scouts defeated, an Ashwinder Duelist will appear and will immediately start gunning for you. Duelists are more dangerous than Scouts. This one has a red Protego Charm and can chain-cast spells to force you to dodge and deflect. The red Charm forces you to get close to the Duelists if your only red spell is Incendio too.
Thankfully, there are some Ancient Magic interactables near the Duelist. Fling these at the Duelist to deal massive damage and break their Protego. From here, combo them to land a quick victory. Do not that there is a Scout that also runs into view during this battle, but again, Scouts are exactly a challenge.
Merlin Trials
Nora will reveal that she is a Historian and Archaeologist and that she has been working on uncovering the secrets of the legendary wizard, Merlin. She will explain what Merlin Trials are, how to unlock them, and even give you a handful of Mallowsweet to get you started.
To continue this quest, you will need to solve the puzzle put forth by the Merlin Trial. Place the Mallowsweet on the stone circle. This will cause 3 pyres to appear around Lower Hogsfield. Walk up to them and cast Incendio to light them. Once all 3 are lit, the Trial will end, and you will be rewarded.
Your reward in this instance is some more Mallowsweet and some EXP. Nora will depart shortly afterwards, and your quest will be complete.
