Kiriko is a fan-favorite new hero in Overwatch 2. Her unique blend of super-speed movement, healing and damage output make her top-tier for some players. The character, inspired by Japanese folklore and paired with a kitsune spirit animal. What makes her special isn’t just the healing or damage-dealing kunai she can throw. Her Swift Step ability allows her to teleport directly to allies — even through walls. That makes her incredibly fast and a wily support player that can zip around the map, aiding teammates and ambushing enemies. She can cast a Protection Suzu spell that protects allies from some of the most powerful abilities in Overwatch 2 — all that makes Kiriko one of the most valuable heroes right now.
And experienced players are already figuring out ways to make playing Kiriko more efficient. You might not know this, but every hero has unique settings you can change — you can change button layouts and how powers actually work in-game. Some settings need to be changed if you’re planning on sticking with Kiriko for the long haul. For expert players, or players just trying to get a little better, these are the settings you’ll want to change first.

How To Improve Kiriko’s Settings | What You Need To Change
To improve your game as Kiriko, open the settings -> Hero settings. You’ll find hero settings under reticle. Here you can fine-tune your hero experience by changing settings. Here’s what you’ll want to change for a smoother Kiriko experience. These settings suggestions were shared by users on the Overwatch 2 Reddit, and they really do help.
- Kiriko Hero Settings To Change:
- Swift Step Sensitivity: Change to 75 / 100
- Toggle Healing Ofuda: Change to Off
Swift Step Sensitivity changes how sensitive your swift step teleportation power becomes — the lower the sensitivity, the easier you’ll find teleporting in chaotic situations. The higher the setting, the easier teleporting becomes. Try bumping this meter up to 75 or even max 100.
Toggle Healing Ofuda changes how Healing Ofuda works. By default, toggle is On — you’ll launch 10 Healing Ofuda with every click. Turning the toggle Off gives you more control and allows you to quickly heal small amounts for other players. Each click launches one healing card, or you can hold down the button to launch more. This is recommended for advanced players — as a starting player, it doesn’t hurt to leave toggle on until you get the hang of Kiriko.
- You can also cancel Healing Ofuda even with Toggle On — to cancel, press Healing Ofuda again (Default: Left-Click) to stop throwing healing cards.
And finally, you may want to swap button settings.
- Control Layout:
- Swap Kunai to Left-Click and Healing Ofuda to Right-Click.
By default, healing is left-click and kunai is right-click. If you’re a dedicated healer, the default is totally normal for you — but if you play any damage-dealers, it makes more sense to heal with right-click and throw out damaging weapons with left-click. You can swap these settings on console too!
This is all personal preference, but let us know what settings you like best for your heroes in Overwatch 2.
