Disappointingly, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga doesn’t allow players to officially play co-op together over the internet. The feature’s omission is surprising given the popularity of online gaming, but all hope is not yet lost.
Fortunately, players are able to play online co-op with some interesting workarounds, however, it’s not able to be done on all platforms. To get it out of the way right now, there currently aren’t any online co-op workarounds for the Switch or any Xbox consoles. Additionally, playing co-op on PC is only possible with the Steam version of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga so unless you’re playing it on PS4, PS5, or the Steam PC version, you’re, unfortunately, out of luck.
That said, take a look below to see how to play online co-op for those platforms.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Online Co-Op
Playing The Skywalker Saga Online Co-Op on Steam
In order to play LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga with a friend online, both people will need to have PCs with Steam downloaded and one person will need to own a copy of the game. Have that person start the game and open the Steam overlay. To do this, hit the shift and tab keys at the same time. One of the tabs on the Steam overlay should say “Invite anyone to play.”
Click the text. That will open the remote play window which provides links that the player can copy and send to the other player. Send them the link and have them put it in their bowser. With that done, they’ll be prompted to accept some terms and once they have, they’ll be in the game playing LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as if it’s couch co-op.
Playing The Skywalker Saga Online Co-Op on PlayStation
In order to play LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga with a friend online, both people will need to have PlayStation consoles with PS Plus profiles. The steps for doing it vary depending on which platform the game owner has.
On PS4, hit the share button on the controller and then select “Start Share Play.” Select “Okay” and then find the person you want to play the game with on your friends list. Select the person and then hit “okay” again. The other player will receive a Share Play invitation that they should accept. Once accepted, they’ll join your party. View the party, then go to the side options and select “Share Play.” This will open a tab that will give you options on what the other player can do. Select “Give Controller to Visitor” and then “Play a Game Together.” Launch LEGO Star Wars and you’ll be playing exactly as if it were couch co-op.
On PS5, find the person you want to play with in your friends list and join their voice chat. Select “Start Share Screen” in the voice chat settings and once they’ve begun watching, a new section will appear within the voice chat. Select it (it says “Share Screen | Share Play” along with your friend’s profile picture) and then select “Start Share Play.” Select the name of your friend and then “Play with the Visitor.” Launch LEGO Star Wars and you’ll be playing exactly as if it were couch co-op.
