Elden Ring: How To Unlock Stonesword Key Doors

Early in Elden Ring, you’ll run into white barriers that require Stonesword Keys to open. Locked doors are annoying, especially in a game that’s so full of worthy places to explore — and you’ll need as many as you can get your hands on. There are barriers in the starting tutorial area leading to tricky dungeons. There are barriers in your home base of Roundtable Hold! If you want to get all the treasures behind those barriers, you’ll need Stonesword Keys.

They’re hidden practically everywhere, and you can even buy them from select vendors. They’re valuable items, and a common reward for exploring areas that are slightly off the beaten path. Always be on the lookout for hidden passages or tricky ways to hop all around the environment. You’ll want a healthy stock of keys when you run into locked dungeon doors. There’s always something good behind them. Below we’ll list where to find all the keys we’ve found (so far) — and this is just the beginning of our search.

Stonesword Key Locations & How To Open White Barriers

White Barriers are locked entryways that require Stonesword Keys. One Stonesword Key will unlock a door — these doors are all over the Lands Between. To access every area and get every treasure, you’ll want to collect as many Stonesword Keys as possible.

Stonesword Key Location: Stormhill Shack – On the road from Saintsbridge. Travel up the road toward the castle — on the way you’ll find a Site of Grace near a shack. The dead body on the platform is carrying the Stonesword Key.

Stonesword Key Location: Stormveil Castle – From the Rampart Tower site of grace, go upstairs and outside to the ledge and walk along the outer wall, then jump across to the ruined tower. Go inside and drop down.

Nearby there is a Stonesword Key slot that unlocks the castle armory where the Crescent Moon Axe and Iron Whetblade are located. The Iron Whetblade allows you to add Heavy, Keen or Quality affinity.
Also contains the Misericorde Dagger.

Stonesword Key Location: Bridge of Sacrifice – Found on a corpse on the bridge far south of Gatefront Ruins. Travel all the way to the southern edge of the starting area map.

Stonesword Key Location: Siofre River – Use the gust of wind to fly up onto a giant pillar walkway. Land on the top and use your mount to jump across to the broken section above the abyss. You’ll find a hard-to-reach Stonesword Key here.

Stonesword Key Location: Academy of Raya Lucaria – Found in the courtyard fountain, in the exterior area as you leave the Red Wolf of Radagon boss arena.

Imbued Stonesword Key Location: Academy of Raya Lucaria – After the Red Wolf of Radagon boss, take the stairs up and cross the rooftops. Before reaching the Church of Cuckoo rooftop, you’ll find a dead body on a ledge with this item.

Isolated Merchant Shack: Wheeping Peninsula – Found in the large field near the Walking Mausoleum. Sells x3 Stonesword Keys.

Abandoned Vendor: Siofre River – Located in the underground of Siofre River, accessed through the Mistwood. Sells x3 Stonesword Keys.
