#9: Cyrus (Octopath Traveler)
Cyrus is the best party-member you can grab in Octopath Traveller for one simple reason — his special ability. Basically, you can exponentially increase the amount of damage you’re doing to an enemy, making Cyrus the best boss-killer in the game. His Divine Skill allows a character to target a single enemy with an AOE attack, dishing out much higher damage.
He also comes equipped with lots of elemental magic, and his stats make him a perfect wizard. He’s a glass cannon that’s so strong, you basically have to bring him along. Unlock other characters that can be flexible, this guy needs to deal magical damage or you’re wasting the best character.
#10: Oddjob (Goldeneye)
The most infamous character in Goldeneye — picking this guy in multiplayer matches with friends is like slapping a ‘CHEATER” sign on your back. Oddjob is the quintessential broken multiplayer character. He’s shorter than everyone else, giving him a smaller profile. That makes him harder to hit, and therefore the best possible character in the roster.
You’d think he might actually be easier to shoot because his head is closer to the center of mass — you’d be wrong. Due to the funky controls on the N64, there was no precise aiming. Oddjob could spin donuts around you, unloading double SMGs while you’re struggling to land that perfect headshot you’ll never achieve.
We’re still searching for most ludicrously OP characters in video game history. If you’ve got your own favorite broken playable heroes (or villains), let us know! We’re always looking to get schooled.
