Twisted Suites (Luigi’s Mansion 3)
Let’s simmer down with my personal favorite floor of Luigi’s Mansion 3 — the magical Twisted Suites. With the most complex layout in the Last Resort Hotel, this floor is a series of mansion-like rooms guarded by three trickster ghosts. Like the name implies, the layout is completely illogical, eventually becoming a maze as the doors start taking you to random new rooms.
Unlike the other levels, there’s no rhyme-or-reason behind the layout of this floor. It’s both linear and non-linear, filled with optional rooms and hidden secrets for Luigi to find on his ghost-hunting adventure. And it is just gorgeously decorated like a stage magician’s dream come true. Just watch the video above to get a taste of the whimsy this level offers — or better yet, play through the game yourself.
Carnivora (Borderlands 3)
The most creative level in Borderlands 3 by far, Carnivora isn’t another Bandit base. This is a level you’ll have to chase down, disarm, and disrupt before you can even begin. Carnivora itself is a travelling circus — a gigantuan vehicle on treads that actually drives around the map. To board Carnivora, you’ll have to shoot the engines with your car as it speeds across the open wilds of Pandora.
This is a level and a boss-fight rolled into one! It helps that the purveyors of Carnivora are voiced by Penn & Teller — only slightly altered into Pain & Terror. At the top of Carnivora, you’ll also fight the best boss of Borderlands 3. I covered that one in our 14 Best Boss Fights list, so I won’t go on about it here. This is all about the joy of Carnivora; a level that drives around.
