The Morovian Society (The Division 2)
This bizarre ‘Morovian Society’ Easter egg is one of the weirdest I’ve encountered in any game this year — perhaps the events of The Division 2 are prophesized by a strange underground group with mystical powers, and many of the characters we know are members of this strange secret society. Or maybe it’s just a weird joke.
It all takes place in the Roosevelt Island stronghold where a faction of crazed lunatics are holed up. To find a secret society’s secret room of worship, you’ll have to let the Black Tusk faction invade, then clear the area, then activate owl statues in a specific order to open a hidden door on the map. When you salute the giant statue, a psychic message will transmit to your character, hinting at deeper (and darker) conspiracies. Very, very weird.
Lizard’s Hiding Place (Mortal Kombat 11)
Who knew that goofy CGI lizard from Mortal Kombat: The Movie could be so scary? Hidden in the depths of Shang Tsung’s island in Mortal Kombat 11, it’s possible to find a weirdo statue of the shape-shifting lizard. That statue isn’t the only thing you can find, because once the lizard is loose, it’s possible to find him lurking all over the island!
You’ll have to swap to a special vision mode to see him, and he’s extremely elusive. He might just never appear, or he might scare you by suddenly invading a spot you’ve visited dozens of times while unlocking stuff for your favorite fighters.
