Deep in the jungles of Columbia, Agent 47 can discover an incredible secret hidden in the Altar Cavern, located between the devious Delgado Mansion and the Construction Site. This is one of the trickiest secrets in Hitman 2 (2018), and if you want to complete a challenge, earn an achievement / trophy, and unlock a super-secret weapon all at the same time, you just need to complete this challenging Easter egg.
The steps seem pretty straightforward — you need to steal a Gold Idol, grab the Shaman’s clothes, then brave a deadly trap in a hidden room. It’s all very Indiana Jones, and at the end you’ll be rewarded with the bonus Burial Dagger, a special weapon that unlocks when you complete the challenge. Inside the hidden Treasure Vault, you’ll face a grid of pressure plates. If you step on a single incorrect plate, you’ll fail the challenge. How To Enter The Secret Treasure Vault | ‘It Belongs In A Museum’ Guide
To find the secret treasure vault and complete the ‘It Belongs In A Museum’ achievement / trophy challenge, you’ll need to complete the following steps.
- Go to the village and find the brown shop behind the green building. Take the Gold Idol.
- Knockout the shopkeeper and take his key to get inside. (Breaking in causes the idol to disappear.)
- He’s the villager – rush to his shop, and you’ll see him locking the door.
- The shop is the brown building at the top of the hill that leads down to the Fishing Shanty area.
- Get the Shaman Costume from the Shaman at the outskirts of the village.
- To quietly steal his outfit, place the Emetic Flower (in the field nearby) in his pot.
- Next, go to the Altar Cavern. You can access it from the Construction Site.
- At the construction site. Shoot the rope holding the log to cross the river without entering the construction site.
- Place the Gold Idol statue in the slot to the right stone relief, near the jungle entrance to the Altar Cavern. The wall will slide and reveal the hidden treasure vault.

You can leave without worrying about deadly traps. The dart-shooters will spurt out party streamers and balloons instead. You’ll also unlock the Sacrificial Knife for your loadout menu.
