Yoshi’s Crafted World
- Developer: Good-Feel
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: NS
- Release: 2019
Yoshi’s Crafted World was teased for a short while now and it appears that we’re going to see this game release into the market for the Nintendo Switch within the Spring season of 2019. For those unfamiliar with the game, this is a brand new Yoshi title that still contains the side-scrolling platforming gameplay that the franchise is known for. Similar to the Paper Mario series, Yoshi’s Crafted World will see our favorite dinosaur fighting off Shy Guys and other hostilities in a construction paper style world.
Within this game, players will still have to swallow enemies and turn them to eggs in order to destroy them but there’s one slight unique twist into this installment. This game will have players go through levels twice where Yoshi can flip the level world around revealing a whole different side full of other puzzles and collectibles that were previously unavailable or only capable of being solved by viewing the level from a particular viewpoint.
While we are still waiting on more details to be released or footage to be shown off, there is one other aspect of the game and that’s players can go through the game cooperatively. So far it seems that the game will be available for a two-player co-op but again, we’re waiting for more information to be showcased. Since we have a while before the game launches, Nintendo has plenty of time to alert gamers of new details of this upcoming game.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- Developer: Nintendo
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: NS
- Release: 2019
During the September Nintendo Direct, the video game industry giant unveiled that New Super Mario Bros. would see a new release on the Nintendo Switch. The original New Super Mario Bros video game titles were a hit when they released on the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo Wii. Since the Nintendo Switch is bringing in plenty of new adopters regularly, Nintendo is dusting off their catalog of video game titles available and giving it a new coat of paint along with some additional features.
New Super Mario Bros. Deluxe is bringing back the Wii title release for the Nintendo Switch while also adding in two new characters. The new characters are Nabbit who will not take any damage against enemies and Toadette who can transform into Peachette with special abilities such as a double jump or slowly falls.
That’s not all, as this game will also include the New Super Luigi U. This means that the Nintendo Switch has two classic platformers coming in one bundle in 2019. This is something that should hopefully hold gamers over until the next Mario featured title releases into the market.
Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn
- Developer: Nintendo
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: 3DS
- Release: 2019
The Nintendo 3DS may be on the way out the door, but Nintendo is still throwing owners of the portable handheld some video games in 2019. Now obviously Nintendo is focusing more on their latest hybrid console, the Nintendo Switch, but one of the video game titles that Nintendo is bringing out for the 3DS in 2019 is Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn. This is a port of a Nintendo Wii title that went under the name Kirby’s Epic Yarn where players took Kirby on a new adventure that is heavily influenced on creating platforms and solving puzzles.
This particular port adds a few new features into the game such as new playable characters like Meta Knight, additional game modes and minigames. Unfortunately, there aren’t too many details regarding the game at the time of writing this but we can expect it to release on the Nintendo 3DS at some point in 2019.
Regardless of the lack of new information, we do know that this is a platformer that was previously available on the Nintendo Wii back in 2010 where again as mentioned, follows Kirby after he was turned into a ball of yarn. This was a well-received video game when it launched originally and if you didn’t pick up a copy on the Wii then it’s likely going to be well worth investing the money to enjoy it portably.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
- Developer: ArtPlay, DICO
- Publisher: 505 Games
- Platforms: PC, PS4, PSV, Switch, XBO
- Release: 2018
Led by former Castlevania series producer, Koji Igarashi, comes the upcoming action-adventure game Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. The video game is in the style of Metroidvania as you explore, craft new weapons, and of course, find new armor. The video game will follow an orphan named Miriam who has been cursed by an alchemist which is slowly turning her skin into crystal. In order to stop the curse, she must explore a castle to find the summoner of this curse, Gebel, who as it turns out had suffered the same condition.
Luckily, the video game is coming out for a number of different platforms so you should have no trouble getting the chance to enjoy the video game once it launches hopefully sometime this year as it’s appearing to be a solid platformer especially if you already enjoyed the companion game released already called Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.
Super Mario Maker 2
- Developer: Nintendo
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: NS
- Release: June 2019
If you enjoyed Super Mario Maker then chances are you’ve been waiting for Nintendo to bring over a port or a sequel to the latest console hybrid release, the Nintendo Switch. During the February 2019 Nintendo Direct it was revealed that Super Mario Maker 2 is being developed and that gamers can expect the title to release sometime in June of 2019. From what we know so far, this game looks to have all the same mechanics and settings from the initial installment.
Those of you who may have missed out, Super Mario Maker was a video game that gave players the tools needed to create their own Mario levels. The tools not only allowed players to create the courses and set enemies but it could offer visuals from a range of different Super Mario video game titles. Now that a sequel has been confirmed, Nintendo is alerting gamers that there are new features, enemies, themes and items that will be featured in the game. This is an excellent platformer as the game will feature an array of new levels each day thanks to the creative minds of gamers all over the world.
