30 Fortnite: Battle Royale Secrets & Settings The GAME DOESN’T TELL YOU

May 26, 2018 by Kevin Thielenhaus

Stay competitive in Fortnite: Battle Royale with 30 secrets and settings you really need to know. From controller configurations, to graphics settings, to in-game secrets, here’s all the vital information the game doesn’t explain..

#12 Use Ceiling Traps To Enhance Your Ambush Tactics

Traps have been nerfed recently — they no longer take off 125% health. Now they only take off 75% health, which still leaves enemy players completely helpless in a combat situation. Ceiling Traps are one of the most annoying tricks you can pull in Fortnite — careless players (like me) don’t usually look up at the ceiling.

Traps aren’t just for damaging other players. They’re also an early warning alarm. If you’re placed a trap in your camping spot, you’ll know someone is trying to invade if they: 1) Set off the trap, or 2) Shoot to destroy the trap. If you’re waiting in ambush, a trap is something your enemy will always focus on first.

#11 Constructed Towers Have A Fatal Flaw

Building is an awesome feature in Fortnite, but there is a fatal flaw to every structure. Even Insta-Tower Grenades are susceptible — if you destroy the base of a tower, the entire tower will crumble and disappear. Normally, you’ll probably want to avoid a large player-built structure. The enemy has the high ground (super important in Fortnite) and knows the layout. But, when it comes to a tower, you can surprise them.

Drop an explosive (or simply shotgun the walls) to knock down the supports on the ground, and the tower-bound camper will drop to the ground. Yes, there is fall damage in Fortnite, and it isn’t insignificant. You can practically kill unsuspecting players hanging out on towers this way, and you don’t even have to be a good shot.
