As we near the end of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1, Activision has started teasing fans about what we can expect to see in Season 2. So far, a Walking Dead crossover has been revealed, along with the return of the Fortune’s Keep map to Warzone.
In the past, Fortune’s Keep had a short, but sweet stint in Warzone. The map made its Warzone debut in June 2022, but it was left behind when Warzone 2 launched in November, 2022. Since the small, fast-paced map was extremely popular and a fun alternative to Rebirth Island, it was unfortunate to see it go after just six months. It appears that the developers could be sharing that same sentiment, as they’re bringing back the map, but not without some updates.

When will Fortune’s Keep return to Warzone?
The Fortune’s Keep Resurgence map will make its way back into the rotation with Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 2. The new season is scheduled to begin on February 7, but it’s unknown if Fortune’s Keep will return with the launch of Season 2, or if it’ll arrive as part of the mid-season update. Also, we don’t yet know if the map will join the current Resurgence rotation, or if it will get its own separate playlist.
When Fortune’s Keep does return, it won’t look exactly the way we remember it. Activision recently sent out mystery packages to Call of Duty content creators which ended up being models of four different parts of Fortune’s Keep. However, it appears that the island has been split by a major event, so we can expect some changes when we visit the beloved map once again.
Although specific details are still up in the air about the reintroduction of Fortune’s Keep to Warzone, all will become clear closer to the launch of Season 2 on February 7, 2024.
