The impact that Vladimir Makarov has on the universe of the rebooted Modern Warfare is shown in full during the campaign of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Around halfway through the story, we have the chance to play a flashback in the mission known as “Flashpoint,” which shows Makarov’s assault on the stadium in Verdansk. While your mission is to find the mastermind and put an end to this terrible attack, there is a missable Achievement and Trophy called Shot Blocked. While the objective of shooting a weapon out of the air before a terrorist catches it seems easy enough, players might struggle to find the moment that this Achievement is tied to. How To Unlock The Shot Blocked Achievement In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Players will make their way through the Verdansk Stadium in their search for Makarov, all the way up to the VIP Suite and back to garage. It is in the VIP Suite that you will be able to unlock the Shot Blocked Achievement / Trophy. After getting out of the car at the start of the mission, go up the stairs to your left. Fight through the waves of enemies in the next area until you go up one more flight of stairs. On this third floor is where you will find the entrance to the VIP Suite, shown in the image below.
Inside you will find members of Makarov’s Inner Circle disguised as medics tending to the injured. One of them will call you over to help a man on the ground. This will lead to a small cutscene that leads to a gunfight. Ignore his plea for help since it leads you to miss the window to shoot the gun out of the air. Instead, focus on the two enemies at the back of the room, shown in the image below. As Price tries to figure out how these men got inside, you will notice the enemy on the right slowly moving forward.
He is making his way to a Kastov leaning against the table. When he reaches for the weapon, he will throw it to the man to your left. This is where you will need to shoot the weapon out of the air. If you are able to hit the weapon before the other enemy grabs it, you will unlock the Shot Blocked Achievement and Trophy!
