Vigor are the Souls of Lords of the Fallen and leveling up will drastically improve your character as you progress through the cursed lands of Mournstead. Leveling up is even more important than in other Soulsborne games, where your current level can really impact your ability to progress. In Eldin Ring and Dark Souls, your skill could very easily offset the more difficult areas of the game. It might take an entire playthrough before you’ll feel like early enemies are easy. Not so in this game. You can even out-level bosses with a little extra Vigor farming.
And because of that, some of the early bosses are the toughest. If you’re struggling against the first three bosses of Lords of the Fallen, we’ve got two methods for farming thousands of Vigor. Collect it up to level up or buy useful items from the Blacksmith. Once you’ve played carefully and gathered up plenty of Vigor, you can start unlocking multiple levels at a time in the early game — you can easily gather enough for two or three levels in a single run. Here’s a few tricks you’ll want to use to stock up on Vigor.

Vigor Farming | Early Game
Before reaching the Sanctuary Vestige, you’ll need to defeat Pieta. She’s a tough early boss — if you want to level up more before attempting to take her down, clear Redcopse Village in the Umbral. By blazing through the top of the village to the bottom, stopping at the Windmill, you can earn thousands of Vigor per run. It takes a little practice, but you’ll have access to multiple Vestiges to rest and to heal up. There’s also nothing overwhelmingly difficult in the area, so you don’t have to worry about permanently losing your Vigor if you die.
- NOTE: Farming Vigor can be easier in the Umbral. When in the Umbral, the longer you’re in the area (and the more enemies you kill) the more your multiplier will increase. This multiplier can increase up to x3 Vigor — for an absolutely enormous bonus.
Early Game Farming Location: Sanctuary Vestige – Reach the vestige at the entrance to the sanctuary where you’ll fight Scourged Sister Delyth. The vestige is right outside a huge swarm of regular enemies that are also easy to deal with from inside the sanctuary.
- From the Sanctuary Vestige, lure the soldiers into the candlelit interior. These enemies also commonly drop Briostones, making this a good early place to farm these healing items.
- Defeat the four soldiers in the center of the large wooden platform by luring them up the stairs, then wipe out the pilgrims throwing magic at you. Ignore the pilgrims on the high platforms to the right. Keep moving and they won’t hit you.
- Go to the right side and take out the soldier and pilgrim. Take out the pilgrim on the left side, then go up. There are two more soldiers and multiple pilgrims on the stairs leading up.
Clear them out, then return to the Vestige. If you take out all the enemies listed above, you’ll earn 1,000+ Vigor for a run that takes only a minute. You don’t have to play well either. You should have plenty of healing to brute force all the enemies and heal after taking some hits. You can also sell the random items the enemies drop for additional souls, but I wouldn’t recommend that until you’ve stockpiled a lot of them.
You can start selling even before unlocking the Blacksmith — use Molhu the Umbral creature in the room near the Skyrest Bridge Vestige. And that should be everything you need to know about scrounging for Vigor very early in Lords of the Fallen.
