Bleeding Edge
- Developer: Ninja Theory
- Publisher: Xbox Games Studios
- Platforms: XBO, PC
- Release: 2019
Ninja Theory revealed a brand new video game during E3 2019 known as Bleeding Edge. You might know Ninja Theory best now from their successful 2017 release, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice but this time around the development studio is providing gamers with a wacky action-packed brawler. There is not too much information released as of yet for Bleeding Edge, but we know that this game is a multiplayer-focused title with a cast of twelve different characters. Each will have their own melee attacks and will be divided into three classes which are an assassin, support, and tank. As a result, there will be a focus on team play and getting your roster filled up with a nice assortment of each class. What we expect is that more characters to be added into the game but again, there hasn’t been too much revealed for the game quite yet. For now, an alpha test is set to take place during the end of June so we’ll eventually hear more about the game during this summer.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint
- Developer: Ubisoft
- Publisher: Ubisoft
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: October 4, 2019
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon is making a return in 2019. The video game is set to follow after the events of Tom Clancy’s Wildlands and will retain some of the attributes that made that particular game different compared to other installments from the franchise such as being set in an open world environment. News is still a bit scarce at the time of writing this but it does look like the game will follow a team of special force operatives who are sent to an island owned by a billionaire entrepreneur and philanthropist by the name of Jace Skell. Skilled and worldwide known for his technological advances, it appears that evil regimes have managed to secure plenty of Skell’s products to use as a weaponize weapon.
It’s your job to cut off the island from the rest of the world and discover what is going on between these deals with the corrupt regime and Skell. There is bound to be plenty of action in-store and it looks like players will be able to use a few more tools during their missions such as combat drones to even rocket launchers.
Bayonetta 3
- Developer: Platinum Games
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Platforms: NS
- Release: TBA
If you’ve played either of the previous two installments of the Bayonetta series then you know that this third installment will be action-packed. The series follows the main protagonist named Bayonetta who is an Umbra Witch. Skilled with what is known as Bullet Arts, players will find themselves battling against angels and demons over the course of the first two installments through the use of extreme gunplay.
Seeing a third installment announced doesn’t come as much surprise as the developers have stated an interest and ideas for a third installment in the past. Unfortunately, we don’t know any fine details for this upcoming third installment.
The Last of Us Part 2
- Developer: Naughty Dog
- Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
- Platforms: PS4
- Release: TBA
The Last of Us from development studio Naughty Dog was a hit and now we’re looking at a sequel. E3 will likely shred more details on this upcoming sequel, but for now, we know that the game will take place a few years after the events of the first title.
Likewise, Joel and Ellie are said to make a return as they will likely have to face against more zombie-like creatures and unusual hostile groups. For now, we’ll have to wait for more fine details in regards to the narrative and gameplay, but if it’s like the first installment, we expect that the game will feature some action-packed moments.
While predominately The Last of Us focused more on stealth, gamers may find themselves gunning down a horde of zombies or battling against a group of human hostiles.
Tom Clancy’s: The Division 2
- Developer: Massive Entertainment
- Publisher: Ubisoft
- Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
- Release: March 15, 2019
During Ubisoft’s E3 press conference at E3 2018, we got the unveiling of The Division 2. The video game takes place just months after the events of The Division where disease’s is no longer the main target. Instead, most of America has been cleared from the vital threat but is now under a new civil war. Corrupt government officials have left innocent civilians in a panic for their lives leaving agents within The Division to bring order back to the nation.
There is plenty of action packed into the video game as players gun down the enemy threats, however, what may be most appealing to fans of non-stop action is the introduction to a Raids component. We’re still left wondering just what to expect with Raids, but from the gameplay footage shown off so far, it seems that players will be working together as a unit when battling enemy targets.
As it stands right now, Tom Clancy’s: The Division 2 is set to launch on March 15, 2019.
Wolfenstein: Youngblood
- Developer: MachineGames
- Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
- Platforms: XBO, PS4, PC
- Release: 2019
A new installment to the Wolfenstein franchise was unveiled during E3 2018. Players will find that this latest installment will not star BJ but instead focus on his twin daughters. Set in the 1980s, the twin daughters are fighting back against the evil Nazi regime.
While there haven’t been too many details released for this particular game, we did get news that Wolfenstein: Youngblood will feature a cooperative game mode, but rest assure that you can still enjoy this game without having a player two join in. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait and see what else to expect from the game in the coming months.
