Borderlands fans are optimistic about this next installment. While some of you might have enjoyed Borderlands 3, others found it far below expectations. Now, we know that the developers over at Gearbox Software are trying to ensure that this game delivers. It’s going to be a big release regardless, as fans are already pouring money into the digital storefronts for a copy. All we can do is wait and see if the development team delivers for Borderlands 4.
It’s not surprising that there are fans who are already picking up a copy of this game. Right now, we don’t have access, but what better way to ensure you’re ready for its launch than getting a copy already reserved? We’ve seen quite a few players who reserve the idea of even preordering a copy of a game. Many players will decide if the game is worth their hard-earned money by waiting for reviews to come out or watching some raw gameplay footage.
Borderlands 4 Is Already A Hit On Steam

Borderlands 4 fans might be more than ready for this one to drop on Steam. With Steam being the primary place where most players are getting their PC games, it’s a good gauge to see how successful a game is on the platform. Fortunately, Steam does have a curated list to showcase the best sellers at the moment.
According to Steam’s Top Sellers page, Borderlands 4 is taking the top spot. The video game beats out a few other notable titles on the platform. For instance, it does beat out Counter-Strike 2 as it drops in second place. Likewise, Helldivers 2 has found its way to the third-place slot.
Going one step further, in fourth place it’s Hollow Knight: Silksong. That might surprise some fans, as this game was a massively anticipated indie title. I’m sure you all remember when the game dropped and crashed storefronts from players trying to pick this one up just this past week.
If you’re wondering when you can play Borderlands 4, we’ve got you covered. Meanwhile, developers are hopeful that when you do start your journey, you’ll be mindful of not spoiling the fun for others. Again, players can expect Borderlands 4 to drop on September 12, 2025. When it does release, you’ll find it available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch 2 owners will have to wait a bit longer as it’s not set to arrive until October 3, 2025.
