The Witcher fans are eagerly awaiting CD Projekt Red to work through their next big installment. We know that it’s currently in full production, and we’ve seen small snippets of the game’s marketing and technical accomplishments. However, there appears to be a big obstacle for The Witcher 4 Xbox Series S version of the game.
We don’t know just when we’ll get our hands on The Witcher 4, so developers have ample time to work through the game. However, there is currently some struggle with Microsoft’s lower-end console offering. The Xbox Series S is no stranger to getting these kinds of posts. Developers have to cater to this platform, whether they like to or not, at least if they plan to release the game on the Xbox Series X.
Thanks to VGC, we’re learning that Digital Foundry spoke with Charles Tremblay, the Vice President of Technology for CD Projekt Red. During their conversation, Charles noted how it’s a challenge to get 60 FPS on the Series S. This is next on their radar when it comes to The Witcher 4, but just how much of a success they’ll be able to pull off is a mystery right now.
We recently got a look at the technological milestones that CD Projekt Red is pulling off. As you may recall, it was during an Unreal Engine 5 event that CD Projekt Red showcased a tech demo. While it’s not directly content pulled right from The Witcher 4, it offers a glimpse into the visuals and performance that we can expect in the upcoming game.
Of course, while we wait for the game to be released into the marketplace, we do have some other content to keep us entertained. A rumor surfaced online last week that suggested The Witcher 3 is going to get a surprise new DLC a decade after the game launched into the marketplace. That rumor hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, we do know that CD Projekt Red’s latest RPG offering, Cyberpunk 2077, will have a new bit of DLC heading our way. That’s another game that most assumed was completely done receiving new content. For now, we’ll have to wait and see just how The Witcher 4 Xbox Series S version of the game performs.
