Ken Levine’s Ghost Story Games Is Hiring A Gameplay Engineering Director

June 12, 2025 by Ryan Parreno

It is genuinely remarkable that Take-Two has chosen to keep development going.

Ghost Story Games has a new job opening out.

As shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit by user WallyWithReddit, the Take-Two Interactive website has a job opening for Director of Gameplay Engineering. It comes with this description:

We are looking for a Director of Gameplay Engineering with a diverse set of technical game development skills and experience to help support our dynamic gameplay and narrative systems within the deep narrative worlds that we aim to deliver with each of our games.

The job listing goes on to describe the director’s duties, which does require a combination of technical knowledge and managerial expertise. It mentions Unreal Engine, use of both dynamic gameplay and procedural design systems, and experience in first person shooters. But really, the most important part is this line:

We are currently working on Judas and would love for you to be part of our team.

So, it’s quite clear that this Director of Gameplay Engineering is being brought in to work on Judas. It’s also clear that this is listing is tweaked to find someone who will work with Ken Levine, to make a Judas that will be very similar to his earlier works.

Ken Levine reemerged online to share job openings at Ghost Story Games a month ago. Clearly, even after Judas’s two year reveal, it’s very much still a work in progress. However, having an opening for a job this vital suggests that development did reach some setbacks, and this may not be the only important job opening that Ghost Story Games needs to fill.

Just a few weeks ago, rumors were going around that Ghost Story Games’ publisher, Take-Two Interactive, was set to announce new BioShock projects. That could be both a new game made by Cloud Chamber, and an official announcement of the upcoming Netflix movie.

Aside from that, Take-Two has Borderlands 4 launching this September 12, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and later on Switch 2. And of course, there’s the companies’ range of sports games, including WWE 2K and NBA 2K.

Take-Two delayed Grand Theft Auto 6 to May 2026, which was certainly not a positive for the publisher. It’s somewhat amazing that Take-Two can afford to still keep development going on both Judas and the next BioShock at all, but that certainly reflects the security they’ve gained from revenue from their 2K sports games and Grand Theft Auto Online.

At least, this means that we should still reasonably expect that these games are coming in the future. Let’s hope that Ghost Story Games and Cloud Chamber makes that wait worth it.
