Special Roblox “Movie” Participant Talks About What Experience Meant To Her

April 9, 2025 by Todd Black

For fun and friendship!

We’re hot off the heels of a “certain gaming giant” making a big splash at the global box office, and you might think that certain gaming entities would want to “cash in” on such a thing due to how, well, they want money, and they want to see if the “market will come to them for their product.” In the case of Roblox, you might think that this is a bit difficult to do, as the visual style isn’t exactly “the best,” and there are only so many ways you could tell a story there, even with its infinitely creative landscape. However, in the UK, they did figure out one way of doing it, and it’s coming out in theaters there this month!

As for what the movie is about, it’s not actually about the game world, per se, but rather a group of young kids who are competing against one another for a prize. If this sounds like a smaller version of “The Hunt,” which ended with a million-dollar grand prize winner last week, you’d be right. The competition itself was shot a while ago but is only coming to theaters now. There was a Facebook “casting call,’ and one of the contestants, Jaymee, was more than willing to sign up for it. In a chat with Fifetoday, her mother noted that Jaymee loves Roblox, even if the mother herself doesn’t fully approve:

“My other two daughters are more sensible. Jaymee, though, is off the wall! She’s the one who says, ‘I want to try that!’ or ‘I’m going to do that!’ If there’s a chance to get involved in something, her hand is always up.”

Unlike in “The Hunt,” the gamers weren’t gathered together in the end in one location to “duke it out.” Instead, they all played in their rooms, which is where the footage for the film came into play.

“I liked all of it! Mostly, I liked meeting new people and playing Roblox – and winning prizes!”

She’s honest. We’ll give her that. Jaymee was also so thrilled about being on the big screen that she’s trying out for other acting roles near here. So, this could be the start of something wonderful for her. We wish her the best of luck.

On the topic of “programming” in this universe, while this is a unique “one-off” due to the nature of the film’s visual focus, others are focusing on in-game visual content that you might want to look out for in the future.
