As we noted yesterday, Roblox’s The Hunt Mega Edition wasn’t just a success, but it brought the community together for a competition that will see its finals played out on April 4th. That competition ends with one person getting a million dollars, which is far more than many gamers will see in their lifetimes…just saying. The question was always about who would reach the top ten and how far they’d be willing to go to get there. In this particular competition, it all came down to getting the most tokens and earning a spot in the top ten because of it.
So, have you wondered just how many tokens and “Mega Tokens” were received during Roblox’s The Hunt Mega Edition? Thankfully, the team was more than willing to answer that question themselves. As you’ll see below, the more standard tokens were received by players via the official games in the competition over 51 million times. Then, with the “Mega Tokens,” which were scattered across the games and other spaces, players were able to get over 6.5 million of them. That shows that these particular tokens weren’t as easy to find and helped separate the top ten from the rest of the pack.
As for what happens next with the competition, it’s a little bit of a waiting game right now. By that, we mean that the finals take place at Roblox HQ on April 4th, so the top ten players are having to wait a little bit to see what’s to come. Plus, the dev team has made it clear that they’re working out how to handle the “final competition” so that it’ll be fair for all involved.
That’s a good sign, believe it or not, because it would be very easy to just try to “do what worked before” in the main competition and then hope it all plays well. But, if you’re going for a “true grand finale,” one that allows each of the ten people remaining to have a chance at success, you can’t have it to where one or two or even three of the final ten have an advantage over the year.
That’s why the main competition wasn’t just about getting the tokens but competing across two dozen games that had wildly different playstyles and genres. While we can’t say that this will be the exact method the team will use in the final competition, it’s fair to think that something as balanced and “fair” will be put to the test.
