Xbox has made a very interesting move recently. For years, they were a big competitor aiming to dethrone the likes of Nintendo and Sony with their own hardware. However, that’s since changed, and rather than outright compete, they are seeking to provide games to these platforms. With Xbox going multiplatform, one industry insider is claiming that you can expect a lot of Xbox titles coming to the Nintendo Switch 2.
We’ve already seen plenty of former Xbox first-party exclusives land on platforms like the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. With the Nintendo Switch 2 in the works, one insider says you can expect even more support. This news comes from Tom Warren from The Verge. In a recent post highlighting the upcoming release date for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Tom mentioned future releases.
Specifically, he noted that this year will see many more of these former Xbox exclusive titles land on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 platforms. With the Nintendo Switch 2 likely being a far more powerful piece of hardware, Microsoft might be able to craft up ports for more players.
Of course, we’re also interested to learn what games might make the jump to these platforms next. We know of some titles coming to platforms like the PlayStation 5, such as Forza Horizon 5. However, there are still plenty of big, heavy-hitter franchises that remain an Xbox exclusive. Games like Gears of War and Halo could be coming next, but that’s just been speculation among fans online. In the meantime, fans of the Nintendo Switch will want to tune in next month. As we know, Nintendo has a new Direct planned for April 2, 2025, which will entirely focus on the new console.
