Jeff Grubb Weighs In On The Rumored February Nintendo Direct

February 12, 2025 by Andrew McKay

There still isn’t a firm confirmation…

There have been multiple rumors circulating that a Nintendo Direct would be happening in February. There have been no official confirmations as yet but the rumors are intensifying with Jeff Grub now weighing in.

As shared by LastGrail on Reddit. Jeff Grub weighed in on the rumored upcoming February Nintendo Direct. There’s a lot of speculation as to what format this Direct will take as there is also an upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 direct coming in April. Unlike the confirmed April direct, the February direct is still unconfirmed which has led to a lot of speculation that this Direct will likely be a partner showcase or a mini direct. Jeff Grub seems to be of that opinion as well.

Naturally fans of the long awaited Hollow Knight: Silksong are eager for news of the game’s release. They have already made comments on Reddit stating as much. Sadly that is likely not the case. It is quite possible that Nintendo will just shadow drop a partner showcase without any form of firm confirmation. It has been several years since the last mini-direct. These are still rumors at this point so approach them tentatively until a firm confirmation.

We previously covered how the direct was rumored to happen on the 15th of February. While some feel that an upcoming direct doesn’t make sense until the Switch 2 direct, it’s quite likely that Nintendo wants to ease into the transition between generations and still maintain its Switch 1 player base. One sign that lends weight to this theory is the recent Nintendo Play On event that is currently happening. Fans can benefit from sales and both Gold and Platinum points as well as play a free game if they have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. If you’d like to find out more click here.
