Nintendo shared updated sales figures recently, with those figures they announced that despite selling 4.82 million units, sales were down YoY by 30%. In addition the company revised it’s predicted sales figures for the coming months. Perhaps that’s why Nintendo is now hosting the Play On Event and Sale.
As shared on Reddit by user TurboStrider27, Nintendo announced the Play On event over on their website. In addition to a general sale of games, there are other incentives too! Would be Nintendo Online Subscribers can earn 20% in gold points with any 12 month subscription. Gold points can be used to redeem discounts on games, rewards and other items both digital and virtual.
Nintendo also announced a Play On free trial game that Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will be able to play for free. This is slightly different from a demo. NSO subscribers will be able to play the full mystery game for a limited time. The Play On Game trial will run from the 24th of February 2025 to the 2nd of March 2025.
In addition to the gold points Nintendo Switch owners can earn 30 Platinum points by participating in an Animal Crossing: Now Horizons event which will run until February 16th. After the 16th there will be a Nintendo Switch Sports event starting from the 17th of February.
Play On with Pokémon! In addition to the above events and sales there will also be a number of shiny Pokémon available to those trainers who complete their Pokédexes. There will also be a number of Mystery Gifts too.
