The first round of February Nintendo World Championships challenges are up. As we’ve covered in the past, the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition gets a weekly update in the form of a new set of challenges. These challenges are available until next week when the new set will be shared.

As shown on Nintendo’s news page, Nintendo Switch Online Subscribers who own The Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition can now participate in Competition #31. As always with the World Championships competitions, Speed runners have a week to complete a mixed set of speed running challenges. They’ll be live until the 17th of February, thereafter the next set of challenges will be shared.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is a game that offers 150 challenges from 13 classic NES games. All of these challenges are speed-running-based challenges that sets players against competitors from around the world. If you’d prefer to keep things local you can also compete with other players in the comfort of your own home.

This Week’s Five Challenges:

  • Super Mario Bros. 3: Super Leaf in the Wind
  • Kid Icarus: Seek & Destroy
  • The Legend of Zelda: Death Mountain Duel
  • Excitebike: Heating Up
  • Super Mario Bros.: Lost Levels

If you took a dash at last week’s challenges – Competition #30, remember to check out the leader board. You can check out last week’s top runs and maybe shave a few seconds off of your times this week.

Last Week’s Five Challenges:

  • Super Mario Bros: Lost Levels: Not Lichen It
  • Zelda II: The Adventure of Link: Monster Slayer
  • Super Mario Bros: Shoo, Lakitu!
  • Super Mario Bros. 2: Egg Toss
  • Kirby’s Adventure: Favorable Wind

The Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition is a pretty great proposition and will set you back $30 on the eShop.  It receives  weekly updates and so it’s well worth the price. Nintendo has been busy recently, they’ve announced a Play Now event. Select games will be discounted and NSO subscribers will be able to play a free mystery game. Find out more here.
