There is a ton of hype built up around Nintendo. It was just last month that we got the official shadow-drop trailer for the Nintendo Switch 2. With the trailer, we learned that again, not only is this new console currently in the works, but we should have our hands on it this year. However, during that same trailer, it was confirmed that we would be learning more about the new console during a Nintendo Direct this April.
Unfortunately, outside of an April 2, 2025 date, we didn’t have much more to go off by. However, that has since changed as Nintendo took to X and alerted their followers that you would want to tune in at 9 AM ET to catch the live presentation. That should hopefully deliver more than a few answers to fans burning questions about this console.
While we got an overview trailer of the console, we’re dying to learn more about what we can expect this time around. We should get a release date and a price point for the console, which has been a major speculative topic online. Nintendo even recently commented on how they are prepared to deal with scalpers, so we should see more than enough stock readily available. Likewise, we might learn more about the software supporting this console at launch or at least games confirmed to be underway shortly after the Switch 2 drops into the marketplace.
At any rate, it’s nice to know when exactly we can tune into the presentation. However, another Nintendo Direct is rumored to be coming. Outside of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, there were rumors that Nintendo would be holding a Direct this month that would cater more towards the games still slated to launch on the original Nintendo Switch. That rumor hasn’t been officially proven true yet. But we’ll keep our eyes open on Nintendo’s social media platforms to see if they confirm a Direct is happening before February wraps up.
