Resident Evil 2 Lands On Mac & iOS This December

November 14, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

Here’s another way to enjoy Resident Evil 2.

Capcom has a long history with its survival horror franchise, Resident Evil. For decades, we have played through countless games and watched the storyline continue to unfold with each new mainline release. But with a game franchise that goes back so many years now, Capcom opted to bring out remakes. Fortunately, those remakes were massive hits, and the trend of these releases more or less started with Resident Evil 2.

Resident Evil 2 saw another release in the marketplace in 2019, and with it being such a success, Capcom continued to roll out remakes in the marketplace. However, if you have not enjoyed this iconic hit installment, you’ll soon gain access to it on three more platforms this coming month. Thanks to Bloody Disgusting, we’re learning today that Capcom has given the official release date for the game installment on iOS and macOS devices. Players should see the game released on December 10, 2024.

If you don’t recall, we already learned earlier this year that Resident Evil 2 would be coming to iPhone 16, iPad, and Mac units with at least an M1 chip. But Capcom fell short of revealing just when the game would land on the devices. That’s since changed, and it’s hopeful that this release might do better than their previous Resident Evil 7 release, which saw less than 2,000 units moved.

Depending on how well this one does, it might persuade Capcom to continue porting these games to the devices. Right now we’re waiting to see just what Capcom’s next Resident Evil installment will be. The last release came in 2023 with a Resident Evil 4 remake. However, there were supposed leaks suggesting what we might see in Resident Evil 9 if that ends up being the game Capcom brings out next.
