Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is gearing up to release on PC and Xbox Series X/S on May 21, but it looks like it may not be confined to those platforms forever. According to reports, the sequel may be coming to the PlayStation 5 sometime in the future.
Earlier this year, Xbox announced that four previous exclusives–Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded–would be coming to other consoles. Following the unexpected closure of Tango Gameworks and Arkane Austin, Xbox Studio Head Matt Booty noted that the company needs “smaller games that give us prestige and awards.”
If there’s one game that could gain the flailing company some better optics, it would be Hellblade 2. Unfortunately, according to The Verge, Microsoft isn’t completely sure that the game would be successful on PS5.
We’ll have to wait and see what happens, though it’s clear that Xbox is desperate for some positive PR at the moment.
Prior to the release of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 next week, the dev team is posting something new related to the title on X daily until launch day.
Last week, Ninja Theory announced the required PC specs for the upcoming sequel. As anticipated, players will want the most powerful system possible to run the cinematic title.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will release on PC and Xbox Series X/S on May 21. The first game was released in 2017 for PC and PlayStation 4 and was later ported to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series X/S. VR support was added in 2018.
