Avatar Frontiers of Pandora Getting Second Gameplay Preview Soon

October 23, 2023 by Todd Black

What will they say this time?

When it comes to movie franchises becoming video games, it doesn’t always work out the way people hope. Nor does the vice versa until very recently. That’s not to say there aren’t titles that work perfectly in the video game space, but there are ones that definitely “try too hard” and fail or just ignore what it means to be a good video game so they can be a cash grab. Avatar Frontiers of Pandora was a title announced years ago and got delayed several times over to the point where many wondered if it would be another “long-gestating” Ubisoft title.

But this time, things have turned around for the better. Avatar Frontiers of Pandora has gotten multiple trailers and gameplay previews to showcase what it will be like on Pandora and to play as one of the Navi. Fast forward to now, and Insider Gaming says the game will get some new impressions released very soon. That’s good because it means there will be new insights into how it feels, looks, and more.

According to the site, various press members were given 3 hours to play the game and see what it was like. They warned that it might not be a “big change” from the last gameplay session in June, but it could still be good to see what people think.

In the game, players will become a Navi that a familiar human corporation kidnapped in the movies to try and infiltrate other Navi communities. However, they were soon abandoned and eventually escaped their hold to try and rejoin the Navi people. Now, you’ll learn the ways of your kin and attempt to connect with the planet to not only learn from it but fight back against the humans when they return.

Based on earlier impressions, the game does check many boxes that would make gamers happy. For example, it appears to be a rather spacious and beautiful world for them to wander around in. There are the typical Ubisoft quests to go on, but others feel more in tune with the movies that have come out.

Plus, players will be able to get an Ikran for themselves and fly around the world to see things from a new perspective, and combat will be a layered experience. The other reason this preview will be important is that the game is coming out on December 7th. That means there’s still time to build up hype for the game.
