Tears of the Kingdom Gets Special Mini-Guide

June 16, 2023 by Todd Black

Need some help?

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a month since the release of The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. After all, gamers waited years for the game to arrive, and there was plenty of anticipation leading into the game’s release. As both gamers and critics have noted, the title is incredibly expansive in the best way possible. There are many quests to complete, people to meet, and more. In fact, one could argue that there’s almost too much going on and that certain things can get lost in the shuffle. If you’re one of those people needing help, Nintendo has a special offer for you.

If you go to your MyNintendo page, you can get a special mini-guide for the title to help you understand basic things about the game and lead you through the opening bits. Here’s the official description of the mini-guide:

“This 38‐page digital mini‐guide to the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom game offers a simple introduction to core game concepts, and helps players navigate the first leg of their journey. This mini‐guide is an excerpt from the 500‐page Complete Official Guide to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.”

So it’s a snippet of the bigger one you can get should you have that need. The good news is that you won’t have to “pay” for the mini-guide in the traditional way. Instead, you need only use 75 Platinum Points, should you have them available. The guide will likely be available for “purchase” for some time, so if you need to rack up those Platinum Points, you’ll have some leeway.

As noted, gamers have been enjoying almost everything the title offers and putting lots of hours into doing everything they find. Those online who have beaten it 100% have said it’s taken them well over 100 hours to do so.

Many more have noted how easy it is to get lost in this version of Hyrule, showing how well Nintendo did with the game despite the delays in releasing it.

The real question fans can ask now is, “How will Nintendo top this title?” They might have asked that when its predecessor arrived because it was so “fresh,” but there was always room to grow there.

With this title, however, they expanded the world both above and below, continued the story, and kept things fresh. Could they do that a third time? Only Nintendo, and Eiji Aonuma, can know for sure.
