Blizzard Releases Overwatch Animated Short Recall

Overwatch will be releasing on May 24, 2016, for the PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One. In an attempt to further promote the upcoming video game launch, Blizzard will be releasing a series of CGI animated videos that is based on the world of Overwatch. The first short called “Recall” was uploaded today and it goes over a bit of backstory behind the character Winston.

Winston is a genetically engineered gorilla and an upcoming playable hero. The video goes a bit into the backstory of Winston and his days of growing up yearning to see what the universe has in store for him. Shoot to present day and we have given a crash course of the Overwatch team and how the world governments have out ruled Overwatch agents from interfering with any issues that have put the innocent in harms way.

As mentioned, Overwatch is set to release later this year for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This is a first-person shooter set in the near-future where an international task force called Overwatch was formed by the United Nations in order to protect humanity and end any crisis that comes up.

However, after the Overwatch team was accused of corruption, the United Nations decided to end the task force with persecution to any agent heroes that attempted to help during crisis situations.

The game will feature a wide range of different character heroes that are equipped with unique abilities and attributes. Although these heroes will range in four varieties that include offense, defense, tank, and support.
