There are multiple reasons why fans of the Splatoon franchise love the Splatfests that happen almost every month. First, they give fans a topic to debate with friends, and then they’ll choose one to defend. That “defense” often takes you to numerous maps and trying to work with various players to attempt to win so your team can do better. It also gives you a reason to jump into the game for a weekend and tear it up before you go back to other gaming titles. But another reason that people love these events is you never know what kind of topic Nintendo will throw at you.
So far, Splatoon 3 has been living up to that hype and potential, as many of the topics that fans have had to debate and choose a topic for have been surprising. We’ve had ones about what you would bring to a deserted island if you were stranded there, the kind of cholate you prefer, the type of Pokemon you always start with in the games, and now, we have something even wilder.
Because at the end of the month, and going right into April, we have a triple threat Splatfest about creatures of legend that you believe may be real:
Yep, we’re having a showdown of whether you believe in the Loch Ness Monster, aliens, or Bigfoot. This is going to be interesting to see unfold for various reasons. Not the least of which is that numerous people throughout the decades have claimed to believe in one of these entities at one point in time.
The Loch Ness Monster is one of the most famous “cryptids” ever. Despite no definitive evidence of its existence, people keep claiming that they have pictures or video proof that “Nessie” exists.
The same goes for Bigfoot, another cryptid with a long history of being “seen” by people, yet no hard evidence is found. Yet, even without it, Bigfoot has become a part of pop culture and is featured in TV shows, movies, and commercials more often than you think.
Finally, people debate aliens constantly because it feels “odd” to some that the universe would only have one planet capable of life. While others think aliens can’t exist because it’s not part of the “grand design” of their deity.
So it’ll be interesting to see who fans side with and who comes out on top when the Splatfest starts on the 31st!
