One of the most anticipated games of the year is the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy, and with just over a month to go before the game is released, fans are experiencing problems with their pre-orders of the game. Fans are complaining that their Hogwarts Legacy pre-orders have been canceled out of the blue, which is quite worrying for those people affected.
Twitter is the place where fans have decided to vent their anger, as a report shows that gamers have received messages about their pre-orders suddenly being canceled. The strange thing is that Warner Bros. Games apparently knows about the problem too. Why is this problem suddenly cropping up and why are Warner Bros. Games not doing anything?
According to the official support account for the game, the issues surrounding these Hogwarts Legacy pre-orders being canceled are because of the game’s delay which was announced last month. But here’s the other issue: the delay announcement was for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions of the game – with the next-gen version still set for a February release – but the delay is now causing issues for those people on Xbox Series X/S.
Fans who have pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Version of Hogwarts Legacy on Xbox Series X/S are experiencing the problem as well, but Warner Bros. Games have explained: “The cancellation is due to the delay of the release of the Xbox One version which is included with the Digital Deluxe Edition for Xbox Series X/S. You should have received an email about it, so please check your inbox and spam.”
If this problem has affected you and you’re also one of life’s eternal worriers, fear not because it should turn out okay. The support account has confirmed that players will be able to re-purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, while the pre-order page has also been updated. You should see the message “Consumers who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will receive access to the Xbox One version on 4 April 2023.”
The excitement surrounding the game is quite impressive, and pre-orders are flying out of the door like school children hearing the lunch bell. On Amazon in particular, the physical version of the game is currently the best-selling PlayStation 5 game of the year so far – even if we are only four days in.
Hogwarts Legacy will release on PC and next-gen consoles on February 10, while the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions will be released on April 4, and the Nintendo Switch version will round up the game’s release on July 25.
