Many are excited about the upcoming event known as The Game Awards. The event has been going on for years in several different forms. It even endured during the global pandemic. When it arrives on the 8th, it’ll do more than give away awards for various categories. It’ll also unveil new announcements and show off world premiere trailers. There is some variance on how many announcements there will be, but even if there are only a few “big ones,” that’s enough to get people to tune in. To that end, many are predicting what will be shown off at the award event.
Some of them we already know, such as Tekken 8. The title will show off more of the fighting franchises’ latest entry on the perfectly timed day of the 8th. The reveal trailer for the game focused on a fight between Jin and Kazuya, highlighting the impressive visual overall that the game had thanks to Unreal Engine 5. We may get to see more characters fighting or maybe get a story trailer, but it’s hard to say right now.
Then, there’s Hideo Kojima. There are all sorts of rumors about what he might be doing at The Game Awards, and some think he’ll reveal his new game, whatever it may be. Some think it’s a sequel to Death Stranding, while others think it might be something entirely new. Game Awards host Geoff Keighley has a deep friendship with Hideo Kojima. So if Kojima needed a “big place” to make an unveiling, Geoff wouldn’t hesitate to let him use his show.
Final Fantasy XVI is another title that many feel will get a section of the show. It’s already been noted by the award show’s Twitter account that the game’s producer will be there for a “special live presentation.” That would indicate that the next RPG in the famous franchise will get a showcase, possibly to focus on the gameplay and show off what fans can expect. The current feeling on the 16th entry is a bit mixed. The game looks gorgeous, but many are unsure about the action-focused combat. Perhaps an extended gameplay demo will help ease the fears of the people.
These are only a few games that could be shown at The Game Awards, and there is no doubt there will be surprises at the event given the show’s history. So tune in on the 8th and see what is revealed to the world!
