Evil West Confirms Console And PC Graphics Modes

November 14, 2022 by Alexandra Nicholson

There are plenty of options to enjoy some monster hunting with.

Ahead of its upcoming launch, the supernatural wild-west era action RPG Evil West has outlined its options for graphic modes. The title will be a cross-gen experience and as such, players on different consoles have been given a fair few options to get the game running smoothly. In addition, Focus Entertainment and Flying Wild Hog have also shared details of the PC specifications players will need in order to have the best Evil West experience.

For players on Xbox One and Xbox One S, the game will unsurprisingly have one graphics mode only and be targeting 1080p at 30 FPS. Kicking things up a notch on the Xbox One X, the game will be targeting 2160p, also known as 4K, at 30 FPS. Interestingly those intending to play the game on their Xbox Series S console will have the same options as those on the last generation Xbox One S model, with their experience pencilled in for a 1080p at 30FPS mode. For the Xbox Series X, things are a bit more interesting, with two optional graphics modes to choose from. Players will be able to pick from either a 1080p at 60 FPS performance mode setting or for the top-of-the-line experience, Evil West will also target 4K at 30 FPS as a quality mode.

On PlayStation consoles, players can expect to see fairly similar options, with some slight exceptions. On the base level PS4, Evil West will target 1080p at 30 FPS, whilst on the PS4 Pro, the game will have the same graphics mode of 1080p at 30 FPS but will feature “improved graphical quality compared to PS4,” according to Focus Entertainment. Those on PlayStation 5 can expect a similar set of options as those on the current-generation Xbox consoles. That’s the 1080p at 60 FPS performance mode and 4K at 30 FPS quality mode.

On PC, players will need to have some fairly attainable minimum specifications to play Evil West. For the game to run at 30 FPS in medium-quality settings, players will need to make sure their PC has an intel core i5-2500K (3.3 GHz) or an AMD FX-6300 X6 (3.5 GHz) processor. For graphics, they’ll need to have at minimum a GeForce GTX 750 Ti or a Radeon RX 460. RAM-wise, you’ll need at least 8 GB. To run the game at 60 FPS in epic-quality settings, players will need an intel core i5-10505 (3.2 GHz) or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (3.2 GHz). A GeForce GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 590 is recommended for graphics, alongside 16 GB of RAM.

Evil West will transport players to an alternative version of the American Wild West where an array of supernatural horrors await. As gunslinging, lighting-wielding hero Jessie Rentier, players will be able to explore the arid landscapes of the west equipped with an exciting assortment of weapons, even bringing a partner into the campaign action if they wish to.

The game is set to launch on November 22 and will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.
