Two weeks from today is the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The 9th generation will feature many things that players will enjoy. But, as longtime gamers will note, sometimes the best way to enjoy the game right from the start is to get the best pre-order bonuses and items. Or to get special editions that make the experience more complete. Today is a great day for those people who want that because today is the day that the unique Nintendo Switch OLED for the titles has been released for purchase. We have to admit; it’s a pretty great-looking console.
As you can see from this tweet from Nintendo of Europe, the special Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Switch OLED feature the two legendary Pokemon of the game, Miraidon, and Koraidon, on the body of the Switch and the emblems of the two Pokemon Academies on the Joy-Cons. The system will be perfect for those who want a memorable experience as they play the games.
But, if that’s a bit too expensive for you, you have other options. For example, if you pre-order the games individually or in the dual-pack form, you can get some special pre-order items. You might have heard about the steelbooks that are out there, but there has been a new reveal from Target that will get your attention.
Yes, it’s true. If you get the double pack for the game at Target, you’ll get a special figurine highlighting the three starter Pokemon of the game: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Based on the picture, it looks very high-quality. We can’t say for certain how big it is, but the size isn’t too important as long as it’s not tiny, and we doubt that it is.
Either way, there are many options for you when it comes to getting these items to add to your Gen 9 experiences. Plus, it’ll help you get even more excited about the game’s imminent arrival.
Gen 9 has been hyped already, thanks to the content shown for the games. Such as with the open world that is the Paldea region. You’ll be able to go anywhere you want within it from the get-go, an actual first for the series. Furthermore, you can choose from multiple story paths within that open world. For example, you can follow the “classic route” and partake in the Victory Road challenge. Or, you can take the “Path of Legends” and search for the mysterious Herba Mystica. But if you instead want to take on the “bad guys” of the game, head down Starfall Road to take on Team Star in their bases around the region.
That says nothing of the new Pokemon you can catch, the co-op features, the Terastal Pokemon, and the other surprises the games will surely have when they arrive on the 18th.
