The upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which release on November 18, would reportedly introduce six and seven-star raids. This raises the difficulty of Pokemon raids from the previous entries in the series, but could also unlock better Pokemon with creatures up to level 100.
This reveal comes from Centro Leaks, who regularly leak information about the upcoming Pokemon games. They notably teased that Pokemon Generation 9 would feature Egg Incubators like in Pokemon Go and that Ed Sheeran would appear in a music video for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Centro Leaks now claim that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would feature six and seven-star raids. In Pokemon Sword and Shield, players can interact with an active Pokemon Den to enter a Max Raid Battle where four trainers battle against a wild Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon. The difficulty of these raids depends on their star rating. One-star raids are therefore easier than five-star raids. If one-star raids are available early in the game, five-star raids are only available after the player collects a total of eight badges.
If this leak proves to be true, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would feature harder raids than Pokemon Sword and Shield with the addition of six and seven-star encounters. Centro Leaks claims that these raids are “very hard” but that Paradox Pokemon and other level 100 Pokemon could appear in these raids.
Paradox Pokemon are a new kind of pocket monsters that would reportedly appear with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This new mechanic would be linked to time travel and feature either “past” or “future” versions of existing Pokemon. According to another leak by Centro Leaks, Pokemon Scarlet would feature the past versions of Pokemon, while Pokemon Violet would feature their future versions.
Each game would bring specific Paradox Pokemon. Pokemon Scarlet reportedly features the past versions of :
- Jigglypuff
- Amoonguus
- Volcarona
- Salamence
- Donphan
- Misdreavus
- Magneton
- Suicune
Meanwhile, Pokemon Violet would feature the future versions of :
- Delibird
- Gallade, Kirlia, or Gardevoir
- Volcarona
- Tyranitar
- Donphan
- Hariyama
- Zweilous or Hydreigon
- Virizion
The Paradox versions of Suicune and Virizion would seemingly join the cast of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in a future DLC. A third legendary Pokemon could also be joining the Pokemon in a later expansion.
Besides those Paradox Pokemon, the Paldea Pokedex would reportedly feature a total of 400 Pokemon, including 103 new ones like Bellibolt, Farigiraf, Fidough, Lechonk, and Wiglett. To begin their adventure in the Paldea region, players will have the choice between three starter Pokemon: grass-type Sprigatito, fire-type Fuecoco, and water-type Quaxly. The legendary creatures introduced with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are Koraidon and Miraidon, who also serve as the games’ respective covers.
Whether these six and seven-star raids will be available or not will be revealed on November 18, 2022, when Pokemon Scarlet and Violet release on the Nintendo Switch.
