The Final Fantasy XV team shared interesting details on some of the game’s extra modes.
Photo Mode was already confirmed. These are photos that one of your party members, Prompto, takes. These won’t be full blown photographs, but it will be a way for you to record memories of the game to view and recollect them later.
There will be a special mode where you can preview certain game elements as 3D models. This includes characters, enemies, weapons, and cuisines. However, there are no plans to make 3D model previews for items.
There are also plans to make a CG gallery mode for concept art. This isn’t an official confirmation that it will make the final game, but it does mean the developer team is working on it.
Lastly, the official Final Fantasy XV forums will be closed, in lieu of a new blog. The Final Fantasy XV team’s explanation is simple. The new blog format will be more accessible to Japanese gamers, and will subsequently enable more participation. The blog will be launching February 12, and you will need to make a Square Enix account to comment.
No word for now if Square Enix will also do this in the West. This news actually also came up on the Western wing of the Final Fantasy XV forums, but says this change will also happen to the Japanese forums.
Final Fantasy XV will be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2016. Do you think Square Enix should also switch their Final Fantasy XV forums to a blog? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
