You Can Use HTML To Name Weapons In Fallout 4

November 17, 2015 by Olga Lexell

Raiders beware, this gun’s name is in italics because it’s extra threatening.

Apparently, it’s possible to use HTML when you rename weapons in Fallout 4. While that doesn’t have a lot of applications, it does enable you to italicize your weapon names to show your enemies you mean business. In this example, Twitter user @ashelia used the bold <b> </b> and italic <i> </i> tags around the name “Mr. Stabby” to make it bold and italic.

It’s hard to say what the limits here are – some HTML tags don’t seem to work, so try not to get your hopes up for glittery, revolving comic sans weapon names. (Though if anyone has had any success doing so, please report in the comments section – for science.)

If you like this explainer, take a look at some of our other Fallout 4 gameplay guides too: increasing inventory space, changing your field of view, skipping the intro video, unlocking frame rate, which settings to turn on or off, basic and advanced console commands, and disabling mouse acceleration.

And if you haven’t played the game yet, what are you waiting for? Here’s our review to help you decide if the investment is worthwhile.
