Just Cause 3’s Resolutions On PS4 And Xbox One Announced

November 5, 2015 by Carlos Chism

Avalanche thinks players will enjoy the game regardless of platform or resolution.

Avalanche Studios has revealed what resolutions the game will have on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In a conversation with GamingBolt, Roland Lesterlin said that “The game runs at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on Xbox One.” He goes on to discuss the amount of physics and screen space effects in the game, implying that those features will make the game enjoyable no matter the platform it is played on.

Games running at differing resolutions on the current consoles is not new. Need for Speed, which released this week, runs at 900p on Xbox One while its PS4 counterpart runs at full 1080p. Other games that have run at 900p or 720p on Microsoft’s console include this year’s F1 2015, Battlefield Hardline, Dying Light, and Battlefield 4. Some of those titles did not run at full 1080p on the PS4, but usually at a higher resolution. Of course, there have been several 1080p games on the Xbox One as well, like Halo 5: Guardians, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, and Forza Motorsport 5. It can be noted these are all first-party titles, whereas third party games usually run at 900p or 720p.

Avalanche recently released a developer diary detailing Just Cause 3’s characters and story. The game comes out on December 1st for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
