You asked, and they listened! Ys Net has confirmed on the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter updates page that there will definitely be a physical PlayStation 4 copy of the game.
The PlayStation 4 Physical Copy backer reward was added to the $60 tier over the weekend, making PlayStation gamers’ wish come true. A survey will be sent to backers after the Kickstarter campaign ends, to confirm their choice of platform. Backers can now choose between a PS4 digital copy, a PS4 physical copy, PC digital copy, or PC physical copy. Those who’ve backed the game for a tier that includes the PC physical copy will not need to adjust their reward tier.
Shenmue 3 was off to a phenomenal start, with backers rushing in to fund the project. They had to clarify some things regarding Sony’s role in the partnership, but the game is still greatly dependent on crowdfunding. The Kickstarter now sits at roughly $4.35 million, with over 50,000 backers, and 11 days to go until the campaign ends. The game is currently in development for the PC and PlayStation 4, with a target delivery date of December 2017.
