Independent studio Gl33k launched the Steam Early Access for their upcoming "pick up and play musical experience" Cosmic DJ. It is now available for Mac and Windows PC. You can get this version for $5.39.
You basically tap and align beats using instruments and a grid sequencer. The game has a quick play and story mode. Tracks are also available to export and share for other players to get their hands on.
"Set among the stars, you will strive to become the legendary Cosmic DJ through six musical adventures as you're tasked with repairing the all-important 'Jamtennas' and bring harmony back to the galaxy," the game's description reads. "Only you, the ‘Cosmic DJ of Legend’ can bring musical harmony back to the galaxy."
