Naughty Dog Is Hiring For Their Next Project

Jul 9, 2020 Dennis Patrick

The focus moves from The Last of Us 2.

2020 was a big year for the Naughty Dog team. It was the year that we got the second installment to the much-beloved IP of The Last of Us. We also got word of an HBO series adaptations that Naughty Dog will help oversee. Of course, that also means the studio can really start their focus on the next generation of the PlayStation platform. During this holiday season, we’re going to see the launch of the PlayStation 5 and with it a new generation of video game titles. While we are likely well away from the launch of a new video game title from Naughty Dog it does look like the studio is getting ready for their next production to really startup.

It was discovered that a job listing has gone up for Naughty Dog and it seems that they are looking for a Level/Environment Designer which they state in the job posting as the creative force behind their narrative-driven content. We’re uncertain just what project this game will be moving to next but it does look like that they are getting ready to bring in some new blood to help get the ball rolling for the next title.

Furthermore, there was another job listing for a Tools Programmer who would be working on the next-generations graphics analysis. This means that the next game is slated for a PlayStation 5 video game console platform release. It’s not surprising as Naughty Dog has been one of the key studios to deliver some big heavy hitters for Sony. Naturally, the company would want these studios to work on the next platform to help drive sales.

Whatever video game title they are working on, chances of us knowing what that is will be slim for a good little while. We are barely out of the launch of The Last of Us Part 2 so there’s still plenty of newcomers picking up the game to try for the first time.
