Cyberpunk 2077 Won’t Allow Players To Progress Narrative Without Augmentations

If you look at the video game releases coming out in 2020 there is one clear title that most are already planning to pick up at launch. Developers CD Projekt Red is gearing up to release their latest video game into the market, Cyberpunk 2077 and its got plenty of gamers excited to get their hands on a copy. Set in the future where crime and big corporations rule, the developers are working on a game that provides plenty of content to go through, places to explore, and more importantly, options to play however you’d like.

A big component in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 is obtaining augmentations for your protagonist. Players can tweak the character body in a wide variety of ways which should complement their various playstyles. However, with that said, if you were hoping to go through the game with the ability to play as a purist without the need for any augmentations then you’re going to be out of luck as it seems that you’ll be required a few augmentations to progress.

In a recent message a fan sent out to the official Facebook page of Cyberpunk 2077, the developers were asked if there is the option to go through the game as a purist with no augmentations. In response, a spokesperson from CD Projekt Red noted that there are a few augmentations that will be placed on the character in select campaign quests. We don’t know how many quests there are which incorporates an augmentation at the moment.

At the very least, it looks like there won’t be a trophy attached where gamers are forced to go through the game without any augmentations which would likely be quite the feat. Currently, Cyberpunk 2077 will be launching on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia starting on April 16, 2020.
