Eight months and a day after it launched for the Xbox 360, the Dawnguard DLC for Skyrim is finally available on the PS3 in Europe and Australia. Even better, it's available at a reduced price, presumably to make up for that very long wait. For a week from today you'll be able to download Dawnguard from the PlayStation Store at half its usual price, which makes it £6.49, €7.99, or $11.75 (Australian dollars), depending on where in the world you are.
In case it's been so long that you've forgotten what the DLC is even about, this is the one that lets you become a vampire. If that doesn't particularly appeal to you, then you can always just enjoy taking out the Vampire Lord Harkon, who wants to end the sun. The pack apparently provides more than ten hours of extra content, with “an all new faction questline, new locations, weapons, creatures and more”. Sounds like just what Skyrim fans need, after the game has been out for more than a year and they've undoubtedly spent hours and hours playing it already.
All DLC for the PS3 version of Skyrim was originally delayed, reportedly because of technical difficulties, but they've all now been released, one each week for the past three, each at 50% off for its first week. While I haven't played Dawnguard, I do know that Dragonborn is pretty awesome, with a whole new island to explore. If you have picked up any of the DLC for PS3, was it worth the wait?
