Regardless if you think it's a good fit or not, multiplayer is coming to the Tomb Raider franchise with Crystal Dynamic's upcoming reboot.
I doubt I'm the only one curious to see how it plays. If so, then the video should alleviate or heighten some of that fear as it shows over four-minutes of multiplayer footage.
Game Director Daniel Bisson talks us through the Rescue game mode and the intricacies involved. We now know that the game will ship with five maps, which are all made from scratch. While that sounds a bit sparse compared to other multiplayer games, what we do see seems to be varied enough with traps, zip lines and other stuff that make them stand out.
Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your point of view, the multiplayer component of Tomb Raider will really remind you of Uncharted's. It might just be me, but the climbing, shooting and even actual gameplay wouldn't look out of place in Uncharted 3. Heck, it even has a level where a sandstorm happens while you're engaging enemies, which, if you've played Uncharted 3, will look very familiar.
You can read up on Tomb Raider's characters, modes and more in a post we had up last week. If you're not interested in the mode at all, maybe a look at the game's Collector's Edition will be of more interest.
Tomb Raider is set to hit the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 5.
