With the recent incorrect listing by Walmart of the SNES Classic Pre-order availability (and it’s subsequent fill up after a mere half hour) fans have been in uproar, waiting in impatient anticipation to secure their place for Nintendo’s latest console.
Now Nintendo has issued a statement, thanking fans for their outspoken enthusiasm for the console – and reassuring them that the wait won’t be much longer until pre-order will be available.
“We appreciate the incredible anticipation that exists for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition system, and can confirm that it will be made available for pre-order by various retailers late this month.
A significant amount of additional systems will be shipped to stores for launch day, and throughout the balance of the calendar year.”
Looks like Nintendo is aware of the stock shortages which occurred last year during the launch of the NES Classic as well as the Switch – let’s hope improved contingencies will be put in place so both Fans and Nintendo will be happy during launch.
The system will The SNES classic is priced at around $80 and will feature the previously unreleased Star Fox 2.
In other Nintendo news, Dimension Drive, the indie space shooter will be making an appearance on Nintendo’s Switch.
Indie space-shooter Dimension Drive hit early access on Steam this February after a long development period, and now, it’s finally ready for lift-off. Creator 2Awesome Studio recently revealed that it would be leaving early access and joining the growing line-up of Nintendo Switch titles.
