XDefiant: All New Factions and Abilities | Season 3

December 19, 2024 by Lauren Sayles

The final additions to the roster.

XDefiant Season 3 has arrived with a range of fresh content. As always, new factions have been deployed, inspired by existing Ubisoft franchises. They all come with their own set of distinctive abilities that consist of one passive trait, two activated abilities, and an ultimate ability.

It was recently announced that Ubisoft is pulling the plug on XDefiant and it will shut down in June of 2025. As a result, Season 3 marks the arena shooter’s final major content drop, so the developers have decided to bring content that was already prepared for future seasons. Assassins were planned for Season 3, but Wolves and Omega Force have joined the roster from what would’ve been Seasons 4 and 5.

Bring the heat in XDefiant Season 3

Assassins

Straight from the world of Assassin’s Creed, this faction brings a blend of combat training, unique weapons, and a sixth sense to take out targets.

  • Hidden Blade (Passive Trait) This iconic weapon assassinates targets in one hit. Hold the melee button to execute.
  • Eagle Vision (Activated Ability) Glimpse enemies’ locations and reveal their trails. Hidden Blade kills refresh the effect.
  • Cherry Bomb (Activated Ability) Disorients nearby foes, leaving them vulnerable to attack.
  • Apple of Eden (Ultra) Activate this reality-bending artifact to teleport to an enemy and deliver your Hidden Blade.

Wolves

Ex-special forces gone rogue, brought to you by Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. Deploy Skell Tech drones to rain terror on the battlefield, while remaining undetected by enemy equipment.

  • Wolf Blood (Passive Trait) Invisible and un-targetable by electronic or AI based skills and gadgets.
  • Legion (Activated Ability) A throwable drone that will seek out enemies within range and explode on impact.
  • Stolas (Activated Ability) An attack drone that moves in a line, firing at enemies in range and acting as an aerial turret at its destination.
  • Drone Swarm (Ultra) A throwable beacon that calls in a swarm of mini drones to seek and destroy enemies in an area.

Omega Force

Take a step back in time with the Omega Force from Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, where cyber commandos from a dark future bring deadly cyberstrength to every fight.

  • Cyborg Strength (Passive Trait) Disregard speed penalties from weapon classes or attachments.
  • Shuriken (Activated Ability) Split second kills that turn the tide. The Shuriken is a lightning fast projectile that will instantly take down almost any foe.
  • Shock Punch (Activated Ability) Show your enemies how Cyber-Commandos get it done. A short dash is followed by a disabling EMP blast that briefly stuns your foes.
  • Killstar (Ultra) Using the player’s health as ammo, the Killstar is an incredibly powerful weapon that deals massive damage in a constant, destructive laser.

Every new faction in XDefiant is automatically unlocked, so you can jump straight in without having to complete any challenge requirements.
