Lies of P: Use This Overpowered Trick To Demolish Bosses

October 10, 2023 by Kevin Thielenhaus

The Throwables of P.

Even after the latest round of boss nerfs Lies of P is a challenging game. That’s by design — Lies of P is the latest Soulsborne on the block — a dark fantasy version of Pinocchio with creepy puppets and killer clowns menacing the streets. If you don’t master parry and other combat techniques, bosses will absolutely dismantle the player. But there’s a way to totally cheese them all. You just need to get your hands on throwables.

Throwables are common items in games like Dark Souls and Eldin Ring — items you can throw to deal damage. These come in the form of elemental grenades, thrown knives and other tools of the trade. While these items are often useful in these games, they’re usually not completely overpowered. Not true in Lies of P. If you want to absolutely crush even the toughest bosses, you’ll want to buy up an infinite supply of throwables. We’ll explain what items you need and where to get them in the full guide below.

Everything You Need To Know About Throwables

Throwables (or Throwing Objects) are extremely powerful against bosses and powerful enemies. While Throwing Objects are limited early in the game, very early (by Chapter 5) you’ll gain access to infinite Throwing Objects. The Black Market Trader has infinite supplies — farm Ergo and you’ll be able to fill up for the rest of the game, or return later to fill your inventory.

  • Black Market Trader Location: The Black Market Trader is located at the house interior in the Malus District.
  • Travel to the Malus District Stargazer and enter the nearby house. You’ll find the Black Market Trader. He sells three extremely valuable items: Shot Put, Fire Canister and Electric Blitz Cannister.

While all the throwables are useful depending on the situation, the three most important weapons are the Shot Put, the Fire Canister and the Electric Blitz Cannister. With these three throwables fully stocked, you can blaze through almost any fight. Struggling against the Black Rabbit Brotherhood? Use throwables to demolish them. This simple strategy works on the last boss too.

  • Best Throwables: Purchase these throwables from the Black Market in the Malus District.
  • Fire Canister: Costs 550 Ergo. Fire Canisters are powerful against mutant hybrids and humans. Very good against bosses like the Black Rabbit Brotherhood.
  • Electric Blitz Cannister: Costs 550 Ergo. Blitz Cannisters are powerful against robots and puppets. It deals high damage — even against the Nameless Puppet, the final boss.
  • Shot Put: Costs 470 Ergo. Deals high strike damage — throw 3-4 Shot Puts to break boss strike gauges. Deal a heavy attack to stun them, allowing you to perform a powerful attack. These powerful stagger attacks deal 20% or more damage per hit.

Using Throwables, even late-game bosses are a breeze. The only tricky part is farming ergo (the currency) to trade for infinite throwables. You’ll want to buy as many of these as you can to breeze through the story. There’s nothing stopping you. If you’re looking for an easy way to earn ergo, you can farm it in Chapter 5.

  • How To Farm Ergo For Throwables:
  • To earn fast Ergo in the Malum District, go to the lobster building to find an abomination with several smaller enemies. Use a fire-element weapon or add fire damage to quickly destroy the enemies inside.
  • Equip the Hunter’s Amulet to earn 1,000+ Ergo per run. Sprint to the Stargazer to reset then clear the room again.

It takes about a minute (or less with practice) per run. You’ll be able to buy two or more throwables per run. Stock up on throwables and there’s no challenge your puppet hero won’t be able to overcome.
