Sayu is a 4-Star Anemo Claymore character from Genshin Impact. So far, she is the only Anemo Claymore character in the game. She is also the only 4-Star Anemo Healer on the roster.

Sayu’s build will depend on how you want to use her. She can either be a Sub-DPS or a Healer Support. If you have Sayu at C1, she’ll be a better Healer. Any Constellation above C1 will give you a good foundation for a Sub-DPS. But once you unlock C6, Sayu will be a Sub-DPS/Healer hybrid and you won’t need to choose one option over the other.
Best Position – Support
Due to the availability of Anemo Sub-DPS characters, Sayu’s Healer Support is a more helpful build to give you better team options. Jean is the only other Anemo Healer in the entire game and she’s difficult to get for F2P players.
Unless you have her at C1, remember that Sayu will not heal characters above 70% HP if there are enemies near the Muji-Muji Daruma.
Best Weapons
For Sayu’s Healer build, you should look for Weapons that boost her ATK or Energy Recharge. The Weapon’s Skill Effect should also buff Sayu’s ATK or add bonuses based on using her Elemental Burst or after healing.
5-Star – Wolf’s Gravestone
Wolf’s Gravestone increases the wielder’s ATK through its 2nd Stat and Weapon Skill. Additionally, hitting enemies with less than 30% HP increases all party members’ ATK by 40% for 12 seconds. This can only occur every 30 seconds. Basically, this translates to Sayu’s healing, with the bonus of boosting her damage output.
Skyward Pride is a good option if you need more Energy Recharge. It will also increase Sayu’s Elemental Burst DMG.
4-Star – Tidal Shadow
Tidal Shadow is arguably Sayu’s best Claymore overall. This Claymore was introduced with Version 4.0 as a Fontaine Forgeable Weapon. It increases the wielder’s ATK. After the wielder is healed, ATK increases by 24% for 8 seconds. This can be triggered even when the wielder is not on the field.
If you have the Blackcliff Slasher, this can also be a good option for its maximum 36% ATK buff. For better Energy Recharge, try the Favonius Greatsword.
3-Star – Bloodtainted Greatsword
The Bloodtainted Greatsword increases Elemental Mastery and DMG dealt against enemies affected by Pyro or Electro. For best results, make sure you have a Pyro and/or Electro character on your team. This should be a last resort Claymore since Tidal Shadow is fairly easy to get.
The Debate Club is your only other 3-Star option because it’s the only one that increases ATK.
Best Artifacts
Since Sayu’s healing comes from her Elemental Burst, you need to cut down on its charge time. You need 200% Energy Recharge to keep her Burst consistently ready. For the most part, you can use ATK% for all of your main stats. Leave Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery for the substats. If you have Sayu at C6, then you should split your main stats between ATK% and Elemental Mastery.
4PC Viridescent Venerer
Overall, this is the best set to farm for Sayu no matter what Constellation she has. If you need more healing before C1, then you use Maiden Beloved, but Sayu will be able to take advantage of Viridescent Venerer with ATK% and EM.
The 2-Piece Set of Viridescent Venerer increases Anemo DMG by 15%. The 4-Piece Set increases Swirl DMG by 60%. It also decreases enemies’ Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10 seconds.
2PC Gladiator’s Finale + 2PC Maiden Beloved
Sayu’s healing scales off of her ATK, so combining these two sets should see an improvement in her Burst healing. The 2-Piece Set of Gladiator’s Finale increases ATK by 18%. Maiden Beloved increases your character’s healing effectiveness by 15%.
Either option can be swapped out with 2-Piece Sets of Desert Pavillion Chronicle, Echoes of an Offering, Flower of Paradise Lost, Gilded Dreams, Noblesse Oblige, Ocean-Hued Clam, Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, Vermillion Hereafter, or Wanderer’s Troupe.
4PC Noblesse Oblige
The 2-Piece Set of Nobless Oblige increases Elemental Burst DMG by 20%. At 4 pieces, using an Elemental Burst increases all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12 seconds. This effect cannot stack.
When Muji-Muji Daruma attacks enemies, you’ll take advantage of the 20% Burst DMG buff. When the Daruma heals, the 20% party ATK buff will increase Sayu’s healing.
Best Teams
Sayu should support your party through healing and Swirl reactions. Since her Elemental Absorption only occurs for Pyro, Hydro, Electro, and Cryo, focus on using those characters with Sayu. From there, you can decide what reactions you want to create or build your team around your Main DPS.
